Profile Assistance

Here we run through tips on ways to approach your Shiatsu Society profile.

ABOUT YOU

It's helpful to present your service in as engaging way as possible. As this is a listing directory it's useful to think about your points of difference to ensure you stand out - your experience, your professional credentials, your location and what specific services or packages you offer. Where are you based and what areas do you serve? This information is useful to include on your profile and helps with SEO.

IMAGES

Images also help enormously. There is the option to include main profile image - this doesn't have to be you, it could be your logo or practice room, but this really helps you stand out on the page. You also have the option to add supplementary images on your profile - these could include your studio, different services you offer or testimonials. You can also add images to your sessions for further context.

SPECIALISMS & MODALITIES

Why do these matter? These are used for the filtered search - it's helpful to tick any that apply to you to ensure you turn up in as many search results as possible.

SESSIONS

Session information is a useful way to provide information about the range of services you offer with pricing information, and can be used for packages. Sessions are tied to venues so this means you can add times and location information as well as showing how you work across multiple venues. For example you could list a Seated Shiatsu Session separately to a floor based Shiatsu session.

VENUES

Venues are part of the map listing, you need to decide if your venue is public or private first of all to determine if you want the whole address displayed. Private venues you own, but public venues are used for shared locations such as a Holistic practice where several practitioners work. If you are opting for a public practice you need to check it's not already been created before completing the form with information about the venue.

LINKS

It's advisable to make use of the link facility, adding your website and social media profiles. You can link directly to landing pages on your website making it easy for people to book a session with you online if you offer automated booking services. Links also help improve your Search Engine Results or SEO - so we'd advise you link back to your profile on the Shiatsu Society website from your own website as well. You unique URL will follow the format of: www.shiatsusociety.org/practitioners/yourpracticename

REGION SEARCH

Don't forget the region search - you can add yourself to different region search results - tick ones that apply in the 'contact info' tab.

OTHER THINGS TO THINK ABOUT

If you are just starting out, it's a good idea to think carefully about your practice name. Is your name simple to understand and not too long? Is it a unique name and one not confused with other practices nearby? You'll need to check that the URL is available. Is there the opportunity to include location information and what would someone search to find you locally? All these things can help when thinking about the kind of information that's useful to include on your website and profile sites.  It's also useful to gather reviews to help with SEO - you can add links to your review on sites like Trustpilot and Google for example on your profile.
