Prof George Lewith Award: £100

Shiatsu Society partners with organisations across the world to help us see our vision come to life in the very near future. We are committed to do the work required to establish Shiatsu as an officially recognised form of therapeutic body work and ensure that all members are recognised as essential health care workers in the promotion of positive health and wellbeing. Shiatsu research is one of our main pillar of focus over the next few years and to make sure that we maintain best practices, we work closely with the Research Council for Complementary Medicine
RCCM aims to promote research that will widen the availability of and access to safe and effective complementary medicine for patients within the National Health Service in the UK, to help prevent disease and improve patients' health and quality of life.
Every year they offer an award of £100 that supports research practices within the holistic and complementary field.
In memory of the great integrative medicine researcher Prof George Lewith, this is an award for the best early career project that addresses their aim to “promote research that will widen the availability of and access to safe and effective complementary medicine for patients within the National Health Service in the UK”.
Applications are now open, and it is a great opportunity for the Shiatsu community to get involved!
