Our commitment to promoting and supporting the highest standards of Shiatsu practice across all communities includes offering our members a listing on our Professional Register, which is available to the public. This can be used as a mini-website where you can share details of your qualifications, services and specialisations. Ensuring that your profile is up to date allows potential clients or practitioners to discover you more easily.
Our team is here to support you!
In this section you will find everything you need to update and make your profile stand out, including:
- Step-by-step video guiding you through the new features. Scroll towards the end of the page to see it.
- Guide on how to use and what to include in each section.
- The opportunity to sign up for group guidance sessions.
Profile title
This section appears in the top box alongside your profile image and is the first thing a potential client sees when they open your profile. Please make sure you write your name correctly and include any nicknames your potential clients may search for.
In this section we recommend keeping your description no longer than 100 words and including key words that tell people who you are, what do you do and who do you do it for. You will be able to write more about yourself and your practice in the "About me" section.
Profile image
Having a profile image can create a bigger sense of trust with your audience. We recommend including a profile picture, but if this is not available you can include your logo or a photograph of your practice room. There is also the option to add supplementary images on your profile which could include your studio, you giving Shiatsu, the different services you offer, or testimonials.
Overview
In this section there are different headings where you can give people an insight into what to expect when working with you, including:
- About me - here you can expand on your experience and describe your Shiatsu journey. You could briefly mention your professional credentials and the type of people you work with. Reflect on the clients you would like to attract and write a description that speaks directly to them by using language that would resonate with them.
- Specialism - here you can choose from a list of multiple specialties that you are qualified to work in, such as Women's Health, Energy Balancing / Meridian Work, Rehabilitation & Recovery, and more. Make sure to select all the areas that apply to you as this will help you show up in as many search results as possible.
- Styles of Shiatsu practised - here you can select from a list of multiple styles of Shiatsu that you are trained in, as potential clients may search based on specific ones.
- Treatment approach - here you can write a brief description (100 words) to help potential clients understand what to expect when working with you. For example, you could mention whether your sessions include talking or not; provide insight into different areas of focus; or anything that might encourage someone to see that you are the right person for them.
- Other modalities offered - if you specialise in other modalities relevant to your Shiatsu practice, please don't hesitate to include them, as these could create even more resonance with your potential client. Examples are yoga, meditation, Qigong, breathwork, etc.
Please note that all these sections are searchable. Focus on specific key words that are relevant to your Shiatsu practice and treatments as this will make it easier for people to find you.
Qualifications
This section is reserved for your professional qualifications including university degrees, education certificates or professional diplomas. You can also include certificates received as part of short or medium length courses including Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Availability
Our platform offers options to select different timings for each day of the week, and also includes a booking link in case you use a different outlet for your bookings. We recommend updating this section as frequently as possible.
Connect and contact
In this section there are three different headings where you can profile different options for clients to find out more about your offering:
- Contact information: you have the option to include your mobile number, your address, and your website. Please note that the address section is searchable. To make sure you show up in your region, please include the following:
- Street name and number
- City
- County
- Post code
- Social media: you have the option to include links to 4 different platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin and X.
- Session rates: you have the option to include 3 different rates including for a 60-min treatment, a 90-min treatment, and an initial consultation.
