I have been practicing Shiatsu for over 30 years; it has been my life's work and inspiration. I graduated in Healing Shiatsu with Sonia Moriceau and did post-graduate training in Movement Shiatsu with Bill Palmer and The Shiatsu College with Cliff Andrews, Carola Beresford Cooke, Nicola Pooley and Paul Lundberg. More recently have been working with Suzanne Yates (Wellmother) exploring the Extraordinary Vessels, particularly their application to menopause, times of life crisis and the challenges of ageing.
My style is an incorporation of all these influences, with an emphasis on deeply nourishing Qi as well as releasing congestion where needed in meridians, organs, joints and muscles. Shiatsu is healing of the body, mind and emotions. I work gently and slowly, feeling the Qi (Chi) as I explore the vessels and meridians. I generally work through the whole body and usually include gentle stretches (and sometimes muscle-energy and neural techniques) to improve the flow of Qi in meridians, loosen joints and relax muscles. Although clients may come to me with physical discomfort or dis-ease, they find that shiatsu brings about changes in much more than the physical body.
I currently work on a massage table and the client remains fully clothed.
Since the pandemic, when I had to stop working, I have decided to reduce my client base and am currently not taking new clients.
