About me

I am a graduate from The Shiatsu College - the Norwich and London branches. I found shiatsu when I needed some medical help when living in London back in the late 80's and early 90's - it proved to be just what I needed. So impressed was I by it I decided to learn shiatsu on a 3 year practitioner course, learning from some fantastic teachers. Graduating in 1995 I moved to live in Newcastle upon Tyne where I set up in practice and have not looked back. Training in shiatsu is a lifetime's occupation, and what a joy it is. The best teachers are our client's themselves. Shiatsu can be anything from simply getting help to find deep rest, to a sophisticated tool that helps read and understand the energy of the body on all levels. It can be the very first step on the road to recovery or that helping hand that just makes life that much more bearable. However you describe it, shiatsu supports the body's own ability to heal itself, which is profound. Like many other practitioners in learning about the 'Ki' of the body (energy) we are exposed to activities like Qigong and sometimes Tai Chi - and I was no exception. Both Arts I practice and teach, and have done since 1997 which in turn support my practice.
