The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) provides a UK Register of Complementary Health practitioners. They are a voluntary Regulator acting in the public interest and are the only organisation set up with Government support for this purpose.
The CNHC is also the holder of an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care; an independent body, accountable to the UK Parliament.
As the leading professional Shiatsu organisation, the Shiatsu Society works with the CNHC acting as a Verifying Organisation (VO) on their behalf. We check the details of practitioners' training, insurance and experience and confirm to the CNHC that our members are eligible for CNHC registration. The Shiatsu Society is the only Shiatsu organisation in the UK to do this.
Registering with the CNHC
The Society has a policy in general of encouraging professional members to join CNHC as the relevant Accredited Register for Complementary, Natural and Traditional therapies. This extra layer of professional registration is useful for individual members and to strengthen the CAM voice in regard to Government.
If you are a member of the Shiatsu Society register and would like to apply to be listed on the CNHC Accredited Register, please complete the form below and email it to [email protected] to make an application. We will provide your details to the CNHC and you will be invited to complete your registration by the CNHC and pay your registration fee online.
