The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) is the independent UK regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners.
CNHC was set up with government support to protect the public by providing a UK voluntary register of health practitioners. CNHC's register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a body accountable to Parliament. They are a voluntary regulator and the only organisation set up with Government support for this purpose.
CNHC is also the holder of an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care; an independent body, accountable to the UK Parliament.
The Shiatsu Society acts as a Verifying Organisation (VO) on their behalf. We check the details of practitioners' training, insurance and experience and confirm to the CNHC that our members are eligible for CNHC registration. We are the only Shiatsu organisation in the UK to do this.
Shiatsu Society Professional Members are eligible to register with the CNHC as part of their membership.
Registering with the CNHC
We encourage professional members to join CNHC to have an additional layer of professionalism attached to their practice. Being registered with the relevant Accredited Register for Complementary, Natural and Traditional therapies helps individual members strengthen the CAM voice in regard to Government.
As a Shiatsu Society Professional Member, you can apply to be listed on the CNHC Accredited Register by completing the form below and emailing it to [email protected]. We will provide your details to the CNHC and you will be invited to complete your registration by the CNHC and pay your registration fee online.
The CNHC registration fee is £75 for your first discipline. Each additional discipline costs £10 up to the 4th discipline, after which there is no fee for additional disciplines.
