NEWS!

Please contact me directly on 07941100242 if you want to book a treatment at Northcote Road as the clinic is currently very short-staffed and the phones are not answered very promptly! It's easier if you text me but you can also call or email me on shiatsu@micampling.plus.com if not urgent.

I use a blend of Shiatsu and Acupuncture depending on your needs and how you feel about needles!

Shiatsu is my first love and forms the core of my practice.  It is a powerful form of bodywork developed in Japan and based on Chinese Medicine principles.  It uses

  • deep acupressure
  • joint mobilisation and yoga-like stretches
  • muscle balancing & spine realignment
  • lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, emotional strategies)

I also use:

  • Seitai (structural & nervous system realignment)
  • Acupuncture (insertion of fine needles)
  • Cupping (used to move tension & clear toxins)
  • Moxa (heat treatment)

My treatments work on two levels:

DEEP:  inducing a meditative state through touch reduces the effects of long-term stress

  • deepening sleep
  • lessening anxiety
  • improving vitality & emotional stability
  • strengthening the digestive, hormonal & immune functions

SUPERFICIAL: stretching and relaxing muscles, freeing up joints & decompressing and realigning the spine

  • relieves pain
  • restores mobility
  • improves posture

I treat a wide variety of symptoms with a focus on stress-related conditions and chronic pain.  Because of my background in family planning, I have a particular interest in pregnancy & menstrual issues.  Shiatsu/Acupuncture is safe throughout pregnancy & can be used to induce labour

Your first consultation will include a full assessment.  Please wear loose clothing - you may need to remove some clothing for acupuncture.  The best results are achieved by having a course of treatments but you can also come for occasional sessions when you feel the need.
