About Me
I have private practices in Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
I originally trained in the intuitive style of Healing-Shiatsu. and have been in practice since 1986. This style focuses on responding to the clients natural breathing rhythm while gently stretching and palming meridians. It is a nurturing technique can allow a deep connection to occur - which in turn can assist in healing of the underlying causes of ill-health. Since this initial training I have done much research and explored many other areas of healing to supplement my work, including personal practice of meditation and yoga.
I completed the Shiatsu College Post Graduate Certificate in 2006 which extended my skills in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and emotional energy work including Chakra balancing, as developed by Pauline Sasaki. In addition I work with remedial massage and craniosacral techniques which enable me to help a wide variety of conditions - from muscular/joint issues to those affecting organs, energy levels, hormones, emotions etc. (see below)
The objective of my therapy sessions is to assess my client's unique needs and address them in a holistic manner. Although they may present with a specific problem I will work on the whole body to access physical and energy (Ki) patterns that may be influencing the presenting issue. Often this can lead to changes that have not been achieved through conventional treatment or other alternative therapies.
I am also a Psychosynthesis Transpersonal Counsellor, graduating with the Psychosynthesis and Education Trust in 1997. I see some clients specifically for counselling, but more often integrate this work into my shiatsu sessions. This gives me the opportunity, where appropriate, to enable clients to process emotional issues through the body and help them on a journey of self-discovery and change. Sometimes, physical problems have an emotional root and awareness of the connection between body and mind/emotion can lead to long-lasting healing and transformation.
Many clients who see me longer term, use me as a mentor, and find that our therapeutic relationship helps them deal with the many issues that arise, both personally and professionally, during their lives.
