Established in 1981, the Shiatsu Society is the UK's leading professional Shiatsu organisation. Shiatsu is a unique stand-alone complementary therapy which supports health and well being. We are committed to the spirit and ethos of shiatsu and the development of integrated and accessible healthcare.

The Shiatsu Society, part of the European Shiatsu Federation, was set up by a small group of Shiatsu practitioners and teachers. Since then the Society has grown to form a network linking interested individuals, students, practitioners and teachers, and fulfils the role of the Professional Association for Shiatsu Practitioners. Currently, there are nearly 2,000 members of whom a third are on the Register of Professional Practitioners of the Shiatsu Society (MRSS).

The nature and purpose of the Shiatsu Society has always been to promote and facilitate communication between our members and to educate the public about Shiatsu. Our aim is to link all those with an interest in Shiatsu, regardless of philosophy, level of knowledge, approach or style of practice. To this end we publish a quarterly magazine Shiatsu Society News. A readership subscription is available for non members of the Society who wish to receive the magazine.
