Shiatsu Society Registered Teachers
Shiatsu Society Teachers
The Shiatsu Society has developed a system for approving teachers, who are given the right to put MRSS(T) after their name. The ‘T’ means they are a fully registered Shiatsu teacher with the Society. Registered teachers are Shiatsu practitioners with at least four years experience.
There are Guidelines for anyone wishing to become a teacher. This involves first registering as a trainee teacher (MRSS(t)) - a ‘little t’ in the Shiatsu jargon. As part of this process they need to find two people to act as supervisors, at least one of whom must be an MRSS(T) - Shiatsu Society Registered Teacher.
Trainee teachers must assist with Shiatsu teaching for a certain number of hours, observe teachers, and teach under the guidance of a supervisor. Trainee teachers then put together a portfolio of their teaching experience that is read by a panel of Shiatsu Society Teacher Trainers who have been registered teachers for at least five years.
