The Society's Administration
The Office
The Society’s Head Office has been based in Rugby since 2000. The Society rents an office within a Business Centre along with around 40 other companies. The Business Centre provides a Reception Service but we prefer to answer all calls personally.
The office receives many telephone calls a day and there is usually only
one or two staff manning the phones so if you cannot reach the office during
these times it will be because they are already on another call. Either
leave a message or call again a few minutes later.
Office Duties
The Administration Team handle the day-to-day running of the Society such as the renewals, insurance, accounts, answering telephone calls, sending and receiving emails, arranging exhibitions and promotions, the administration work from the Directors and various other duties. The occasional cup of tea is also made!
Contacting the Office
The Administration Team are always happy to accept your telephone calls, emails, letters etc. We value your feedback and will always refer your queries to the team or appropriate Director if necessary. They also value a chat to members just to find out how they are, how their Shiatsu is doing, their views etc..

Samantha Haywood, Office Manager
Hi! I have been working for the Society since 2001 and thoroughly enjoy it. I have 19 years experience of administration, finance, marketing and sales skills. Most of my career has been working for large organisations and it took me a while to adapt to the way the members are. When they call the office they are so polite and friendly, the bosses are human! I love the way the Society is like a ‘family’. Everyone talks on first name terms, letters are signed ‘Kind Regards’ etc. If all companies took this attitude I think the workplace would be a friendlier and happier place for all. I love the variation in my job and my ultimate goal is to make Shiatsu a household name. I myself have regular Shiatsu and am amazed at the improvements in my headaches and back pain so I truly believe in it. Outside of the workplace I enjoy riding my horses, reading, swimming and studying for my Chartered Accountancy qualification.

I was pleased to be offered the post of part-time Administrator in November 2005, and have found it easy to settle in to my new environment thanks to all the help I’ve received from Samantha. My previous role in the NHS was that of Receptionist in a local Health Centre. I’ve always lived in Rugby, and I’m married with two adult sons. When not at work at the office I can usually be found somewhere in the garden or greenhouse, a hobby which I enjoy all year round.
