Teachers Meeting 15.7.11 - The Relationship between Schools and Society

A number of suggestions were made re how to improve communications between Schools and the Society eg:

a)    One member of the Education Sub-committee should be appointed specifically to communicate with schools

b)    Society to improve their processes eg providing feedback re Ratification

c)    Setting up a Schools Forum on the Society’s website,

d)    Each school to provide an Admin contact to the Society (rather than just individual teachers)

e)    Heads of Schools to meet regularly with the Board (these may be virtual meetings)

f) Schools to have a free  'corporate' membership of the Society and receive a Journal as part of that membership

ACTION:  Sara Hooley – to take these suggestions to the Board, to initiate activities and to organise meeting with Heads of Schools
